Gary was a best friend in High School and afterward. He had a '62 Chevy Impala convertible. We did a lot of crusing in that car. We decided in 1970 we would join the Navy on the "buddy" plan. We went for physicals and Gary had high blood pressure. They told him to come back for another physical. Me, they took. He was 4F and got to stay at home and continue school. Gary died of cancer in the early 80's. He left behind 2 children. I think of Gary and Danny Taylor (the other good friend) often.
Gary was a very nice guy. One year at Christmas he drew my name. That was at southward. I know my present cost more than what we were suppose to pay. It was a little trinket box that played music. To this little poor girl it meant a lot. He was always so sweet.

Thanks, John, for your post. Being away from McKinney for such a long time, I didn't know what happened to Gary. He and I were friends back in HS.
